I grow companies.

I’m a startup CMO. Most recently I was CMO at EasyKnock: we believe working class Americans have been shut out of traditional banking, and aim to help them achieve financial success, starting with home equity loans.

Prior to EasyKnock I was Head of Marketing at Codecademy. As software has eaten the world, millions of jobs have been transformed and now require technical skills. I led the refresh of Codecademy’s brand, product lines, and pricing strategy, driving a 500% increase in revenue and helping millions of people learn to code and upgrade their career.

Prior to Codecademy I was Head of Marketing and Sales at Bloc. I helped Bloc grow revenues 2000% in three years and helped thousands of people find more fulfilling careers (noticing a theme?). Bloc was acquired by Thinkful and is now a part of ed-tech behemoth Chegg.

Before Codecademy I was Director of Marketing at SoFi. I was responsible for launching SoFi at the nation’s top 75 universities and growing loan originations from $2MM to $200MM.

I began my career as part of Microsoft’s marketing leadership rotation before joining the public sector marketing team. I worked on a number of products (Office, Xbox, and SaaS) and within various channels (OEM, Retail, Enterprise, and Microsoft’s first-ever D2C ecommerce store).

I do startups because I’m a builder. And I write because I’m a helper. Also, it’s cheaper than therapy.

Onward.

I’m a builder and a teacher. I’ve worked as a growth advisor or interim-CMO with a number of growth-stage startups including Coding Dojo, MIRROR (acquired by Lululemon), Coterie Party, Suburban Jungle, and Climb Credit. If you’d like to work with me, get in touch.

Almost forgot! I recently launched a spunky little podcast called Startup Marketing Stories, so give that a whirl.
